This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists you will be responsible for all aspects of creating, analyzing and communicating detailed production schedules using industry standard scheduling software. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Leaders, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production Control to ensure work is efficiently planned with all risks identified.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develops the production schedule and manufacturing plan based on program schedule, customer ask date, labor, and machine resource availability, and expected make/buy part availability lead time.
  • Proactively identifies schedule risks and constraints, and communicates status clearly and diplomatically to leadership across all levels before issues impact program milestones.
  • Maintains schedule baseline integrity and manages formal change control for schedule revisions in accordance with program requirements.
  • Manages production schedules for multiple programs. Provides Production Control detailed information to ensure scheduled completion dates align with actual work center capacities, capabilities, and historical performance.
  • Actively mentors and develops less experienced planners, elevating team-wide technical proficiency and scheduling best practices.
  • Flexes to support scheduling needs on other programs beyond primary assignment as team priorities shift
  • Evaluates program scope and creates tactical schedules using scheduling systems (MS Project & Primavera P6), controlling the scope of work released to Production Control for execution.
  • Exercises judgment on appropriate level of schedule detail (milestone vs. task-level) in coordination with Program IMS teams, balancing control-point visibility with execution flexibility.
  • When schedule recovery is necessary, identifies and analyzes solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods.
  • Works closely with production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, technicians and schedules work accordingly.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure production and customer specifications are accurate and production schedules are timely.
  • Champions a tool-forward, digitally literate approach - actively seeking out and applying available software and automation (including AI) to eliminate repetitive manual work and maximize time spent on high-impact scheduling priorities.
  • Balances rapid-response, quick-turnaround scheduling requests with sustained execution of longer-range program deliverables.
  • Provides regular updates to management on upcoming production priorities.
  • Updates visual management boards with current job/program status.
  • Performs schedule and scope variance analysis and reviews MRP execution
  • Ensures the Operations schedule, Program schedule and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) are aligned.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Production Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 2-10 years recent production control planning and scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Read and understands technical documents including blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining schedules with CPM methodology in MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Digital Fluency: Demonstrated experience adopting new software tools or automating manual processes in a previous role (e.g., macros, scripting, AI tools, workflow applications).
  • Able to work full time schedule, including occasional travel, overtime, or on-call work.
  • Based upon job duties, may need to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Manufacturing Lead, supplier management, program management experience highly desired.
  • First-time build / low-rate initial production (LRIP) experience
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills
  • Schedule risk analysis experience (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, schedule risk assessment tools)
  • Excellent computer skills with Scheduling Software, MS Excel, Power Query, SQL, MS Office, Databricks, and ERP experience with MRP MES execution desired.
  • Experience training/onboarding new planners
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, DFSS, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban).
  • Earned Value Management (EVMS) familiarity
