This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Join the Lunar Permanence team of engineers, responsible for integrating lunar landers with the New Glenn launch vehicle. Provide mission support services for Day of Launch activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Directing integration tasks for the Mission Interface Control Document (ICD) for Lunar vehicles, collaborating extensively with the New Glenn Launch Vehicle mission management team. This encompasses defining requirements, facilitating development, and ensuring verification completion.
  • Directing the customization and execution of Range Safety protocols for Lunar vehicles, involving coordination with USSF Delta 45 and the New Glenn team for timely deliverables.
  • Collaborating closely with the New Glenn payload integration team to guarantee smooth transportation, integration, and deployment of all Lunar vehicles.
  • Assist the Lunar Launch Integration Lead by contributing to the definition and implementation of encapsulation, launch processing, and Day of Launch tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or equivalent experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field
  • Experience working at a launch site processing either with launch vehicle or spacecraft/satellite payloads
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to coordinate across collaborators and experts from different engineering fields to support Mission ICD and Range product closure
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills as well as organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates typically have 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or a relevant technical field such as M.S. or equivalent experience
  • Experience with launching cryogenic systems
  • Familiarity with SSCMAN 91-710 Range Safety prerequisites
  • Experience with tools such as Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
