Full Job Description
The Litigation & Regulatory Legal Specialist is a versatile member of the Legal Department who provides substantive legal and project support across the Company's Employment Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Regulatory Compliance functions. This role is designed for an experienced legal professional who enjoys varied, high-impact work and can flex across multiple legal disciplines based on the needs and priorities of the business.

This role partners closely with in-house attorneys, outside counsel, and business leaders to manage litigation, commercial, and employment matters, coordinate discovery and subpoena responses, support governmental and regulatory inquiries, and lead or assist with special projects involving regulatory compliance and other Legal Department initiatives. The role requires strong judgment, initiative, organization, and the ability to independently manage projects and legal processes from intake through completion in a fast-paced corporate environment.

This position is based in our Tampa, FL Restaurant Support Center and will work a hybrid schedule (mix of onsite and remote).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Litigation Support
  • Provide substantive support to the Employment and Commercial Litigation teams across a variety of litigation, pre-litigation, administrative, commercial and employment-related matters.
  • Assist attorneys with factual investigation and development of matters, including gathering and analyzing relevant records and information from business partners.
  • Coordinate the collection, review, organization, and production of documents and electronically stored information for litigation, administrative proceedings, investigations, and other legal matters.
  • Prepare chronologies, factual summaries, document summaries, litigation materials, and other work product to support attorney review and case strategy.
  • Assist with discovery responses, including coordinating with internal custodians and business partners to identify and collect responsive information.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, internal attorneys, HR, Operations, and other business partners regarding active legal matters, deadlines, document requests, and case-related needs.
  • Track litigation and administrative matters, deadlines, action items, and key developments and assist attorneys in maintaining accurate matter information.
  • Support employment-related administrative charges, investigations, and other matters before federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Assist with settlement administration and other post-resolution requirements.


Subpoenas & Third-Party Legal Requests
  • Manage the Company's subpoena and third-party legal request process from intake through completion.
  • Review incoming subpoenas and legal requests, identify appropriate internal stakeholders and sources of responsive information, and coordinate timely responses.
  • Work with internal business partners and attorneys to identify, collect, and organize responsive records and information.
  • Maintain accurate records of subpoenas, responses, deadlines, and related activity.
  • Coordinate applicable subpoena-production payments, reimbursements, and related records.


Regulatory Compliance & Government Response
  • Provide project support for regulatory compliance initiatives and special projects led by the Legal Department.
  • Coordinate responses to governmental audits, investigations, inquiries, and requests for information, including matters involving OSHA, Departments of Labor, and other federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Operations, Risk, and other business functions to gather information, track requirements, and support timely and accurate regulatory responses.
  • Conduct factual and regulatory research and assist attorneys with evaluating and documenting compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain trackers, reference materials, documentation, and other tools to support regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation of new or changing legal and regulatory requirements, including coordinating cross-functional action items and monitoring completion.
  • Support special projects and emerging Legal Department priorities as business and regulatory needs evolve.


Critical Incident & Cross-Functional Legal Support
  • Participate in the Company's critical incident response process and support attorneys in responding to significant or sensitive incidents.
  • Coordinate information and communications among Legal, Risk Management, HR, Operations, and other stakeholders following significant incidents.
  • Assist with factual investigation, preservation and collection of relevant records, tracking of action items, and post-incident documentation.
  • Serve as a flexible Legal Department resource for projects and matters requiring coordination across multiple functions.


Property Claims Administration
  • Coordinate incoming property damage matters and related investigations.
  • Work with insurers, adjusters, Operations, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather documentation and facilitate resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records and track matters through resolution.


Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting litigation, employment law, regulatory compliance, legal operations, or corporate legal functions.
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department, law firm, or regulatory compliance role preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage legal matters, projects, deadlines, and processes with appropriate attorney oversight.
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify next steps, anticipate needs, and move matters forward.
  • Ability to manage numerous high-priority matters simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning and working within legal technology, matter-management, document-management, HR, and other business systems; experience with Legal Tracker and Workday is a plus.
