Operates and performs as the department head and interacts appropriately with all levels of attorneys and staff in the firm to explain records and information management concepts and best practices, and troubleshoot issues and circumstances.
Ensures timely execution of scheduled and repeatable processes such as periodic system validations, daily triage, and system monitoring and event log management. Perform routine network administration and maintenance.
Prepare and process correspondence and memoranda as well as complex legal documents according to the requirements set by each practice group. Prepare documents for e-filing as required, including experience with notice of removals.
Prepare and maintain other RIF-related documentation, such as OWBPA attachments. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and provide appropriate guidance to attorneys and clients regarding disparity analyses and OWBPA project management.
This person will be expected to work on ERISA litigation matters and other insurance related matters and perform all of the duties of a traditional law firm associate, including, but not limited to, legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions and pleading, attendance at court conferences, discovery-related activities and investigation, analysis, and drafting of position statements.
The person in this position will mainly focus on employment litigation matters, but will also assist with benefits litigation, labor matters, and general employment advice. We can provide multiple writing, publishing and speaking opportunities.
Experience providing advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including employee relations, ADA and other workplace accommodation, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies is beneficial.
The Special Counsel attorney will focus on handling administrative charges before federal, state and local agencies, including investigation, assessment and development of risk strategies, client interaction and preparation of persuasive position statements.
