Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Architect to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The Linux Orchestration Services (LOS) team, which is the standard of excellence for all things, Linux within the organization. The selected candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's cloud-compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Linux Operating System and automation technologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Perform high-level design, specifying systems and component performance and interface requirements. • Develop conceptual designs OR models to address requirements. • Analyze problems to determine technical solutions. • Write white papers AND develop user requirements based on evaluating solutions for solving technical problems. • Maintain current knowledge on new and existing products, technologies, and/or architecture. • Be willing to learn and share knowledge with others and be able to work well with both internal and external constituents. • Design and build the information technology framework or environment. Guide information technology projects to product results that comply with established project requirements and IT architecture. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 10 years' experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) OR 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. • In depth experience with Linux (Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 8, 9, & 10; Amazon Linux; Rocky, etc.) • Experience with Ansible & must possess strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services / cloud-compute technologies such as AWS/Lambda functions. • STE/STN solutions, Networking protocols/equipment, or STIG applications • Design/develop/integrate hardware and/or software components into new and existing systems and perform maintenance on the development system infrastructure. • IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment. Acceptable certifications include: CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP) • Shall have at least two (2) of the following IT Industry Certifications: • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) • VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Image Builder. • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Certificate. • Microsoft Azure products, VMWare (VSphere), OpenStack • Experience/Knowledge of Virtual Desktop deployment and configuration automation. • Knowledge in writing, configuring, and deploying Ansible Playbooks. • Strong knowledge in writing and implementing other scripting languages like Python and Bash Scripting. • Creative, organized, and results driven, with the ability to condense and synthesize information quickly, working several efforts in tandem. • Expertise in managing and arranging JIRA projects, backlogs, sprints. • Expertise using Git commands (GitLab/GitHub) to manage/push/pull projects and implement file version controls. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Participate in troubleshooting efforts to resolve incidents and provide root cause analysis. Clearance Requirements: • Must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph Physical Requirements: • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. • Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication
