Full Job Description
A Welder/Machinist plays an important role in our Service department providing technical expertise to ensure superior customer service in the repair, fabrication of parts and structures in our shop.

**Must live within drivable proximity to Sudbury as there is no accommodation provided**

Schedules Available: Shift premiums may apply

  • 7 days on x 7 days off (12 hours)
  • 4 x10 hours


Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$49.98

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently
  • Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches
  • Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field
  • Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components
  • Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication
  • Maintain and build strong customer relations


Must-haves for this role:

  • Experience in the technique of line-boring (huge asset)
  • Post-secondary education in the field of welding or conventional machining
  • 3 years professional experience working with GMAW, SMAW and FCAW techniques
  • CWB or Canadian Red seal certified (an asset)
