Skills and Competencies - Minimum 10 years of hands-on Vertex O Series 9.0 implementation and support experience, with configuration expertise in SAP Financial Accounting, Vertex Accelerator, and Vertex O Series 8.0 and 9.0
- Experience with SAP integrations with Vertex, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales and Distribution, and Intercompany Invoicing, as well as configuring and troubleshooting SAP Integration Component tax mappings
- Experience supporting global tax implementations across US, Canada, EMEA, APAC, LATAM, Brazil, and India, including greenfield implementations, cutover, hypercare, and production support
- Functional understanding of Sales and Use Tax, VAT/GST, tax exemptions, multi-jurisdiction determination, and global tax matrices, including direct and withholding tax concepts
- Experience with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, e-invoicing, and Continuous Transaction Controls, including country-specific mandates such as Peppol, LATAM, and India GST
- Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms; experience developing and conducting end-user trainings
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business, technical, and external consulting teams; ability to manage projects, teams, and competing priorities under time constraints
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education - Bachelor's degree in any discipline required

Responsibilities Serve as the Global Tax lead and single point of accountability for global tax technology, ensuring SAP processes and master data correctly drive tax determination, reporting, and compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Facilitate the implementation, support, and hands-on configuration of Vertex O Series integration with SAP S/4 HANA, including tax procedures, condition tables, tax codes, jurisdiction codes, and reporting structures
- Design and support tax integration across end-to-end business cycles including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, intercompany, credit processing, and General Ledger postings
- Support global indirect tax requirements including US Sales and Use Tax, EU VAT, APAC GST, and regional statutory and compliance models, along with direct and withholding tax integration
- Configure, maintain, and validate SAP Integration Component tax mappings; administer exemption and tax certificates within Vertex; and manage taxability codes and jurisdiction setup
- Support Brazil tax implementation and ongoing compliance requirements; participate in Vertex Accelerator and Vertex O Series upgrades including impact assessment, configuration validation, regression testing, deployment coordination, and post-production support
- Own reconciliation and audit readiness by reconciling Vertex tax results to the SAP General Ledger, supporting internal and external audits, and maintaining complete audit trails
- Uphold SOX and change-governance controls, including documentation standards, testing rigor, IT Automated Controls compliance, and disciplined release and change management practices
- Train, coach, and mentor Tax Super Users, Business Process Owners, and Business Process Leads; provide guidance to junior staff on user issues and project-related requests; and drive automation and AI-enabled tax capabilities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $172,650.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
