A Legal Relationship Manger II is responsible for origination and on-going management of a profitable loan, deposit, fee income, and non-interest income portfolio of mid-sized to large law firms through the development and retention of long term, profitable client relationships.

The Legal Specialty Group (LSG) provides financial advice and solutions exclusively to attorneys and law firms, sharing experience and expertise in understanding the ever-changing dynamics of the legal profession, and anticipating the issues and trends most important to the legal community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Grow and manage a profitable book of clients of mid-sized to large law firms, consisting of deposits, loans, and institutional investments. Typical book size $10MM+ in revenue with emphasis on balance sheet drivers such as loans outstanding and deposits outstanding.

2. Develop a business plan annually to include marketing and client acquisition plan in conjunction with a service delivery plan for clients and prospects.

3. Proactively originate new business via leads and referrals via Centers of Influence, marketing efforts, asking for personal introductions from clients, and personal & professional networking in the areas of deposits, loans, and investments.

4. Act as the leader of LSG firm relationship team for client firms, coordinating relationship strategy with LSG teammates to deliver LSG value proposition, including multi-city / multi-office points of contact.

5. Partner with teammates in Treasury & Payment Solutions, Credit, Escrow & Corporate Trust and others to deliver specific solutions tailored to meet client firm needs.

6. Create advocacy and connectivity with both executive partner committees and senior administrative staff within client and prospect firms to foster deep connectivity with decision makers to drive new business engagements and support retention efforts.

7. Partner with National Director of Legal Specialty, and internal counsel to determine "Balance of Trade" considerations for client and prospect firms, acting as an internal advocate for clients within appropriate boundaries.

8. Deliver subject matter-specific presentations to firm leadership in areas of interest to foster greater connectivity with Truist Bank.

9. Identify and "right channel" opportunities for clients and prospects-deliver the comprehensive resources of the bank.

10. Document all client interactions via CRM system.

11. Establish and maintain consistent visibility within legal market via event attendance (Association of Legal Administrators, Bar Associations, ProBono foundations, etc.) locally and sometimes nationally.

12. Participate in campaigns or volunteer at committee or board level within legal-focused non-profits within local/national markets.

13. Support LSG teammates through collaborative relationship strategies and teamwork.

14. Develop process to mitigate risk within individual practice to include emphasis around the operational, regulatory, and reputational environments.

15. Resolve past dues, document exceptions, etc. in partnership with credit and servicing teammates.

16. Fosters continued personal and professional growth via education seminars, conference attendance, and other continuing education activities.

17. Lead discussions with team members around specific wealth topics, market developments, legal profession, and/or best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree

2. 8 years or more of commercial banking & relationship management experience

3. FINRA: Acquire and/or maintain proper licenses including Series 7, Series 66, Life, Health, and Variable insurance licenses and SAFE Act registration. Teammates will have 60 days from their Start Date to transfer, or 90 days from their Start Date to acquire, all of the registrations and licenses required for this position

4. Deep knowledge of corporate banking products and services with expertise in credit, capital markets, and treasury management

5. Proven success in the acquisition of new client relationships. Demonstrated experience and success in meeting and exceeding sales goals, identifying and delivering on client needs

6. Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

7. Strong Microsoft Office skills

8. Must be SAFE (Mortgage Licensing Act) compliant within 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration and applicable NMLS background check which includes meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, credit fitness and criminal background standards. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. CFA, CIMA, CTP or similar designation. MBA or other advanced post-graduate degree.

The annual base salary for this position is $210,000- $230,000.

General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
