Full Job Description
State and local governments are at a pivotal shift in finance, administration, tax, and revenue operations by leveraging cloud to increase security and resilience, fuel innovation, and amplify customer experience.

The Finance, Administration, Tax & Revenue (FACT) Vertical team is seeking a highly qualified individual with direct experience in helping government finance and tax authorities achieve their digital transformation goals. In this role, you will help build next-generation tax, revenue, and back-office systems and solutions across Departments of Revenue, Tax Commissions, Comptrollers, Treasury agencies, unemployment insurance, retirement and employee benefits, insurance, licensing, DMV, and back-office operations including HR, payroll, purchasing, and finance.

Amazon Web Services is seeking an experienced Business Development Leader to drive growth and adoption of AWS services within the US State & Local Government (SLG) Finance, Administration, Tax & Revenue vertical. This is an exciting opportunity to define and execute a go-to-market strategy for one of the most dynamic and transformation-ready segments in the public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences

- Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology

- 7+ years of finance, tax or a related analytical field experience

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals

- Experience with technology platform sales with an understanding of government IT, data centers, cloud services and cloud adoption

- 3+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources, or related field, or PMP certificate

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling workforce development programs across large-scale operations, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions

- Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies

- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field, or experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
