Job DescriptionThe Legal Operations & Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Legal and Compliance Department at Mondelēz International. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Legal Operations lead, this role collaborates closely with legal staff, outside counsel, vendors, and cross-functional teams to optimize legal operations across 165 countries. The primary focus is on managing legal financial operations and outside counsel management globally, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting, data analysis, reporting, automation, AI-driven process improvement, and system management.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Analysis and Reporting- Process and analyze key billing and matter data sets to perform comparative analytics and identify trends across functional activities.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, including automation and AI tools, to ensure efficiencies in legal spending.
- Develop a deep understanding of MDLZ's TeamConnect matter management database reporting capabilities, focusing on metrics related to legal spending.
- Design and maintain outside counsel reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics for financial legal reporting using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Support regularly scheduled monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Assist with internal forecasts, financial planning, and identification of potential budget risks to ensure the department meets strategic financial targets.
Invoice Processing- Process outside counsel legal invoices across multiple countries through TeamConnect, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
- Respond to law firm and vendor queries regarding invoices and payments, acting as the primary contact for invoicing issues.
- Manage vendors for electronic billing through TeamConnect's Collaborati e-billing platform.
- Monitor, resolve issues, and coordinate revisions or adjustments and audit invoices to ensure timely processing and adherence to Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines.
- Manage the accrual process, reconciliation, and communication with law firms.
Outside Counsel and Vendor Management- Act as the primary contact for all matter management issues with internal stakeholders, law firms, and vendors.
- Partner with MDLZ's legal team to select and evaluate outside counsel, negotiate pricing, and assess legal vendors to ensure quality of service and maximize value.
- Oversee timekeeper management, including new timekeeper requests and approvals.
- Drive the strategy for using analytics, AI, and business intelligence to assess outside counsel performance and spend.
- Manage the RFP process and oversee the annual outside counsel rate increase request process.
- Administer and optimize MDLZ's Matter Management system (TeamConnect), including law firm and vendor onboarding to MDLZ's electronic billing
- Ensure integration, development, and continuous improvement of the Global Enterprise Matter Management and electronic billing systems.
- Ensure compliance with global financial and budgeting requirements.
Strategic Initiatives- Combine strategic perspective, problem-solving skills, and disciplined implementation to optimize the Legal Operations function.
- Evaluate and implement AI and automation solutions to streamline legal operations workflows, including document review, spend analysis, and predictive analytics.
- Gather and act on input from stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance Legal's operational and administrative processes.
- Coordinate and maintain the department's Global Outside Counsel Management strategy, processes, and tools.
- Stay current on legal operations industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices to inform continuous improvement.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Fiinance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4-6+ years of experience in legal operations, financial analysis, or a related function within a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot charts, pivot tables, macros, data modeling).
- Understanding of accounting principles and legal billing guidelines (e.g., UTBMS/LEDES codes).
- Experience building and maintaining financial dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player who can easily handle shifting priorities, multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Experience with e-billing and matter management systems (TeamConnect, Collaborati, or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms applicable to legal operations (e.g., spend management AI).
- Knowledge of legal industry billing guidelines and outside counsel management best practices.
- Strong project management experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and comfort working with multiple data sets, with the ability to draw conclusions and make informed recommendations.

Salary and Benefits:The base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $133,815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.In addition, Mondelez International offers the following benefits: health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, paid holidays and vacation time.
