Position description

UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals
Division of Allergy, Immunology, Bone Marrow Transplantation
Department of Pediatrics
Clinical X or In Residence Faculty Series

The Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting a research-focused faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

The selected candidate will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Faculty Role in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology

The successful candidate will be an established physician-scientist with an independent research program focused on allergy, immunology, or a closely related field. The position is designed primarily around research, with clinical responsibilities in Allergy and Immunology comprising a smaller portion of the faculty member's overall effort.

Research activities may include basic, translational, or clinical investigation relevant to pediatric allergy and immunology. The faculty member will have opportunities to collaborate with investigators and clinicians across UCSF and contribute to the continued growth of the division's research program.

Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient Allergy and Immunology clinics and inpatient consultation services. The specific distribution of research and clinical effort will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, interests, funding, and programmatic needs.

In addition to their research and clinical responsibilities, the faculty member will contribute to the academic mission of the division through teaching, mentorship, and scientific collaboration. The position offers an opportunity for an accomplished investigator to play a significant role in shaping the future direction and growth of pediatric allergy and immunology at UCSF.

Required Qualifications

  • MD, MD/PhD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of California.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology.
  • Demonstrated record of research in allergy and/or immunology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics and/or Internal Medicine.
  • Established record of independent research and scholarly productivity.
  • Evidence of sustained or substantial extramural research funding.
  • Experience leading collaborative or multidisciplinary research programs.
  • Experience mentoring trainees, junior faculty, or other investigators.
  • Demonstrated interest in academic and scientific leadership.
