Job Summary
We are seeking a technical professional to support IT/OT systems across laboratory and manufacturing operations in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves end-to-end troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and coordination with global shared-service teams and vendors. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of regulated GxP/GMP environments, Windows administration, virtualization, networking, backup and recovery, and laboratory and manufacturing systems. The position requires strong documentation, risk-based decision-making, stakeholder communication, and the ability to coordinate technical resolutions within a shared-services and limited-privilege model.
Key Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end troubleshooting of IT/OT issues affecting laboratory and manufacturing operations using a structured approach to isolate root causes and implement permanent fixes.
• Collect local evidence, identify appropriate resolver groups, escalate issues effectively, and follow through until resolution and closure.
• Apply GxP/GMP expectations to IT/OT support activities, including documentation discipline, audit readiness, and risk-based decision-making.
• Support and coordinate backup, retention, storage and capacity management, and recovery readiness for laboratory and OT workloads.
• Verify backup logs, coordinate test restores, and proactively address backup and recovery gaps.
• Define technical requirements for laboratory and OT connectivity, including ports, protocols, access requirements, and performance expectations.
• Coordinate technical implementation and issue resolution across global and shared-service teams, including Networking, Cybersecurity, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Server/Windows, VMware/Virtualization, Storage/Backup, End User Computing, and external vendors.
• Troubleshoot Windows administration and enterprise identity issues, including authentication and authorization problems involving Active Directory groups and access patterns.
• Diagnose virtualization-related issues across host, virtual machine, network, storage, and application layers.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity using knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall rule intent.
• Work with network and security teams to request appropriate connectivity and firewall changes.
• Support laboratory and manufacturing system environments, including LIMS, CDS, instrument connectivity, SCADA, HMI, and historian ecosystems.
• Collaborate with vendors and subject matter experts to restore laboratory and manufacturing services quickly.
• Document incidents clearly, prepare root cause analysis (RCA) summaries, define connectivity requirements, and maintain accurate asset and configuration management database (CMDB) records.
• Plan and prioritize concurrent incidents and project activities based on business impact and risk.
• Communicate status, set stakeholder expectations, and escalate issues according to business risk.
• Translate technical issues into clear business impact and risk explanations for non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot IT/OT issues end to end and drive root cause resolution.
• Ability to operate within shared-services and limited-privilege environments, including evidence collection, effective escalation, and resolution follow-through.
• Working knowledge of GxP/GMP expectations relevant to IT/OT support, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Experience supporting or coordinating backup, retention, storage and capacity management, and recovery readiness.
• Ability to define technical connectivity requirements and coordinate implementation across multiple technical teams.
• Working knowledge of Windows administration fundamentals and enterprise identity concepts, including Active Directory groups and access patterns.
• Experience with virtualization platforms and concepts, such as VMware, and troubleshooting across infrastructure and application layers.
• Practical understanding of networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall rule intent.
• Familiarity with laboratory and manufacturing systems, including LIMS, CDS, instrument connectivity, SCADA, HMI, and historian environments.
• Strong documentation skills, including incident notes, RCA summaries, connectivity requirements, and asset/CMDB maintenance.
• Effective planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and escalation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in terms of business impact and risk.
