Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, adaptable Software Engineer to join the Securities Finance and Collateral Management (SFCM) engineering team at Broadridge. In this hands-on role, you will build and maintain high-performance financial systems, strengthen test automation, and provide technical leadership on large-scale projects from design through delivery. You will work across engineering and quality assurance, balancing reliability, security, performance, and cost while helping the team explore better ways to solve complex problems.

Key responsibilities
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain core SFCM Platform components, writing clean, efficient, reliable code as part of an agile squad.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the software development life cycle, guiding implementation, design updates, and the resolution of complex technical challenges.
  • Evaluate architectural options, frameworks, infrastructure, and third-party tools; make technology recommendations that account for scalability, security, performance, long-term maintainability, and cost versus benefit.
  • Build and improve automated integration tests, champion test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD), and help deliver resilient software.
  • Establish and promote coding standards, tooling guidelines, and secure development practices. Support compliance with enterprise and regulatory security requirements throughout the SDLC.
  • Review code and critical designs, mentor developers, and contribute to technical discussions that raise engineering standards across the team.
  • Translate business requirements into practical technical plans, working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, engineering colleagues, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate designs through clear documentation, including diagrams, flowcharts, and other appropriate artifacts. Help manage technical risks, delivery timelines, and budget considerations.
  • Experiment thoughtfully with new approaches and technologies, using evidence to improve the platform and its development practices.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a self-starter with a growth mindset and experience in a strong combination of the following areas:
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on large-scale projects from inception through delivery.

  • Deep knowledge of designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems using microservices, event-driven design, and layered architectures. Experience designing asynchronous publish-subscribe systems, message streaming with Kafka, and event sourcing.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes; and serverless computing.
  • Understanding of relational SQL and NoSQL databases, caching layers, and data partitioning strategies.
  • Mastery of SOLID and domain-driven design (DDD) principles, alongside established software design patterns.
  • Sound judgment in software design and technology selection, with attention to performance optimization, security, maintainability, and cost.
  • Familiarity with automation and testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, JMeter, and Cucumber.
  • Responsible, safe, and productive use of AI and agentic development tools.

Additional skills
  • Experience with C, C#, or WPF.
