Job Responsibilities and RequirementsAs part of the Salesforce solutions team, The Lead Salesforce Engineer will be responsible for driving the ongoing solutions architecture, detail design, development, testing, and deployment. Refinement of our Salesforce environment, adapting to meet our evolving needs, including auditing, and optimizing the current Salesforce CRM and Claims schemas, page layouts, record types, profiles, roles, hierarchies, and user workflows, as well as completing regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
This person will be actively involved with a 3rd party vendor to assist with the support of Managed Packages functionality and code customization. This role requires to effectively troubleshoot and delineate between issues that are customized work versus incorporated within a managed package.
Responsibilities- Perform hands-on technical Salesforce architecture and development that adhere to platform best practices and perform peer code reviews. Typical Salesforce implementations include custom platform development (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components), integrations with back-office systems (often using middle-ware tools including REST APIs and web services), and complex data migrations.
- Deliver high-quality functional solutions assist with quality testing, including creating test scripts and technical/training artifacts.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand organizational goals and translate these into specific Salesforce initiatives. Work with members of the team to analyze business requirements, translating those requirements into customized solutions.
- Ensure quality support for system issues by working with users to assist with replication and perform debugging activities, including collaboration with 3rd party vendors and Salesforce Support, as needed.
- Work with the RSL IS team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities.
- Create documentation around all Salesforce structure, process, and use, and assist with training for all teams to drive adoption of best practices.
- Partner with our Data Warehouse, Applications Development, and Web Applications teams to integrate Salesforce with Reliance Standard's internal systems through a combination of batch processing as well as real-time, web service API-based communication.
- Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce releases, features and industry trends and continually assess and recommend improvements to the organization's instance, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Related Experience- Bachelor's degree in IS or a closely related field and 5+ years of Salesforce development experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships and convey details with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Salesforce platform programming, including Apex, Visualforce, XML, Lightning Design System and Component framework, with a thorough understanding of Salesforce development standards and best practices.
- Advanced technical knowledge of Salesforce Administration, and extensive experience with declarative development tools including Flow Builder, page layouts, Lightning record pages, validation rules, and assignment rules.
- Experience with interpreting business requirements and providing innovative and efficient technical solutions.
- Ability to effectively debug and resolve technical issues and/or defects, navigating through code with limited technical documentation, collaborating with Managed Packaged vendors as needed.
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce architecture, including Salesforce data model and Salesforce API suite, including REST, SOAP, Pub/Sub, and Bulk APIs.
- A thorough understanding of Salesforce deployment processes, with experience using GitHub or other version control software.
- Experience with development tools such as developer console, VS Code/Code Builder, etc.
- PC proficiency, including MS Office Suite products as well as the ability to become proficient on required internal system applications.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or using other agile project management systems for CRM initiative management.
Preferred:- Web application development including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
- Experience with Majesco's ClaimVantage Claims Management software (SF 3rd party application).

Ability to Travel: Up to 10%
The expected hiring range for this position is $113,850.00 - $151,990.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate's starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
