About the Job

OpenTable is an industry leader in hospitality, dedicated to helping restaurants worldwide manage capacity, improve operations, and increase revenue. We are seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our Front of House / Table Management System (TMS) team to drive design strategy and simplify complex workflows for a global user base. You will lead through craft and systems thinking, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and data partners to shape the future of our platform. By balancing user needs with business goals, you will ensure our tools empower restaurant partners to deliver outstanding diner experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design for a significant parts of OpenTable's TMS, managing the lifecycle from problem framing through delivery, designing for complex workflows while balancing usability, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Partner with engineering, product, research, and data teams to efficiently bridge design intent with front-end implementation, preserving quality and accessibility across web and native platforms.
  • Using strong judgment and sharp skills to evolve the TMS experience by thoughtfully integrating AI workflows into both the product development process and the user experience.
  • Advocate for our restaurant operators by using research, data, and customer feedback to uncover design opportunities, shape product priorities and evaluate impact.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing and shipping digital products and platforms.
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to the design of complex digital products across multiple teams.
  • Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with a focus on systems thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience shaping AI-powered products or workflows, utilizing AI as a core medium for problem-framing and prototyping while maintaining a strong perspective on human judgment, user control, accessibility, transparency, and trust.
  • Experience designing B2B, operational, hospitality, or data-dense web platforms used by repeat professional users.

The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, including commission and/or bonuses, is $135,000-$165,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
