We are seeking an experienced senior developer to join our Equity Flow Derivatives technology team, focused on our pricing and execution platform.
The role involves designing, building, and supporting applications used by the equity derivatives business. Our team owns critical front-office platforms spanning option pricing, request-for-quote workflows, derived data management, execution, and analytics capabilities.
This is a Lead Software Engineering position at the Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.
What you'll do in the role:This is a highly business-facing role. The successful candidate will work closely with traders, sales, and strats to understand workflows, identify pain points, and drive technology solutions that deliver measurable business value. The role requires regular engagement on the trading floor, building strong partnerships with stakeholders, shaping strategic initiatives, and leading projects from concept through delivery.

- Experience with reactive and event-driven architectures.
- Modern web development experience.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks.
- GitHub experience.
- Experience with modern Java (21+).
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $155,000 and $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
