Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

Located in Charlotte, NC, our office is expanding, and we need a passionate Project Engineer to join our innovative Land Development and Planning and Design team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate within a diverse team across various disciplines, providing exposure to a wide array of projects ranging in size and complexity. Responsibilities
  • Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects.
  • Complete Due Diligence Reports and preliminary cost estimates for various sites and project types.
  • Complete work within budget and prior to deadlines.
  • Lead the development of preliminary layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards and codes.
  • Utilize, instruct, and delegate application usage for generating project-specific drawings, reports, or other technical deliverables
  • Manage quality control procedures and recommend QC process enhancements
  • Train and mentor junior staff on technical aspects and policies

Skills and Attributes
  • Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills.
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Experience with client and review agency interactions.
  • Innovative design skills to develop solutions to complex projects.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as HydroCad, PondPack, StormCAD and/or Sanitary & Sewer Analysis
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports


The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Charlotte, NC, is $95,000 to $115,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
