IS Application Manager-Epic Ambulatory Details

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Lead the lifecycle management of assigned applications, including planning, implementation, stabilization, optimization, upgrades, release management, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  2. Partner with operational, clinical, financial, technical, and executive leaders to understand business needs, improve workflows, increase efficiency, strengthen adoption, and advance organizational outcomes.
  3. Manage and develop analyst teams by setting expectations, assigning work, balancing workload, coaching staff, supporting certification or skill development, providing feedback, and creating growth pathways for analysts.
  4. Establish and manage application roadmaps, priorities, governance processes, change control, testing expectations, issue escalation, and communication plans.
  5. Ensure supported applications are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, data privacy requirements, and information security standards.
  6. Serve as an escalation point for complex application, workflow, integration, vendor, operational, and production support issues.
  7. Coordinate cross-functional work with project managers, infrastructure, integration, analytics, training, security, compliance, vendors, operational leaders, and other application teams.
  8. Monitor application performance, support metrics, service levels, risks, resource needs, customer satisfaction, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  9. Lead or support major organizational events, including go-lives, command center support, integrated testing, operational readiness activities, upgrades, downtimes, disaster recovery exercises, and executive or operational review sessions.
  10. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare technology trends, application capabilities, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices relevant to assigned applications.
  11. Participate in an on-call support rotation as required to ensure timely response, escalation, and assistance resolution and communication of critical application, workflow, and production support issues outside of standard business hours for the systems.
  12. This is a hybrid position with designated required onsite events. Onsite presence may be required for go-lives, command center support, major testing events, operational readiness activities, leadership meetings, team development sessions, critical issue resolution, and other organization-designated events.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare administration, clinical informatics, business administration, nursing, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered based on organizational policy.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, enterprise application support, clinical/business systems, or application management preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership, team lead, supervisory, project leadership, or analyst mentoring experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting Epic, Workday, ERP, clinical, revenue cycle, integration, or business applications preferred based on assigned portfolio.
  • Epic certification, Workday training, application-specific certification, or other relevant technical/clinical credential preferred or required based on the assigned role.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders, translate workflow needs into system solutions, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching staff, building team capability, managing performance, supporting accountability, and fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
