PurposeThe Investment Analyst will report directly to the Managing Director in charge of investments and capital allocation and will support the execution of the Major Rock investment strategy through rigorous research, financial modelling, and transaction execution. This role requires strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems, and delivering high-quality insights that inform investment decisions.
Key Areas of Accountability Investment Origination & Analysis• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to identify trends, risks, and investment opportunities
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential investment partners
• Perform screening and preliminary assessments, applying structured analytical frameworks and clear reasoning
• Synthesize complex information into concise, actionable insights and recommendations
Financial Modelling & Due Diligence• Build and maintain robust financial models, including valuations and sensitivity analyses
• Evaluate key assumptions, business drivers, and financial projections with a high degree of accuracy
• Support due diligence processes, identifying risks, implications, and mitigation strategies
• Prepare clear, well-structured materials to support investment decision-making
Transaction Execution• Support execution of acquisitions, partnerships, and other investment transactions
• Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors
• Manage deliverables with accountability, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation• Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio investments
• Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, taking initiative to raise and address issues
• Support value creation initiatives alongside portfolio company management teams
Reporting & Insights• Prepare presentations, reporting, and analysis for internal stakeholders
• Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to support decision-making
• Prioritize effectively and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
QualificationsEducation & Experience• Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience (investment or corporate banking, corporate development, private equity, consulting, accounting, or similar)
• Experience in financial modelling and investment analysis

Work Environment• In person based in Toronto, Ontario
Compensation- The base salary offered for this role is $85,000 to $115,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
