Full Job Description
About the team - Tackle

Tackle, a business unit of AppDirect, is the leading solution built to help software companies generate revenue through data-driven Cloud go-to-market (Cloud GTM). Our platform and team help customers identify the right buyers, grow cloud co-sell relationships, and transact efficiently at scale through AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft.

Tackle serves more than 500 software companies-including CrowdStrike, HashiCorp, New Relic, and Snyk-from high-growth startups to the largest software companies in the world.

About You

You'll join a small, high-ownership team building Tackle's marketplace post-transaction experience - the systems that keep contracts, invoices, payments, and metered usage in sync after a deal is sold, and the product surfaces vendors use to act on that data. Your day-to-day work spans the full stack on both the backend (Node.js, Go) and frontend (React), running on AWS across Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, Step Functions, ECS, and Postgres. Because the team is small, you'll own meaningful portions of the product end to end: from a cloud marketplace API, through the pipelines that build a contract or deliver a usage record, to the React UI and public APIs customers rely on. You bring a growth mindset to your work - you're comfortable asking questions, learning unfamiliar cloud APIs quickly, and closing gaps through curiosity rather than waiting for perfect prior experience. You communicate clearly in a distributed team setting and take pride in writing code that is testable, maintainable, and ready for production.

What you'll do and how you'll have an impact
  • Build and maintain full-stack features across Tackle's post-transaction product, exposing that data to customers through a React frontend and TypeScript/Node.js and Go backends.
  • Design and implement backend services on AWS, including serverless, event-driven systems (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, Step Functions).
  • Own and evolve data integrations with AWS, Microsoft, and Google marketplaces, and publish change events that downstream systems consume.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of features - from design through deployment and operation - on a team where your contributions are immediately visible in production, including customer APIs, CRM integrations, and notifications when data changes.
  • Collaborate daily with a product manager and other engineers to shape how marketplace billing and usage data is modeled, synced, and surfaced in the product.
  • Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality standards and share knowledge across a small engineering team.

What we're looking for
  • 2+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications, with working knowledge of both frontend and backend layers.
  • Professional experience with React and TypeScript (or strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with demonstrated readiness to work in a TypeScript-only codebase).
  • Hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS, particularly with serverless services such as Lambda, API Gateway, or DynamoDB. Familiarity with event-driven patterns (EventBridge, SQS, Step Functions, or DynamoDB streams) is a plus.
  • Comfort working with external APIs and moving or transforming data between systems and keeping search indexes and CRM records in step.
  • Comfort working with AI coding tools. We use Cursor heavily.
  • A strong sense of ownership, because on a team this small you will hold significant responsibility for product areas and need to drive work forward with limited direction.
  • Intellectual curiosity that leads you to understand how your code fits into the broader system.
