Intellectual Property Patent Agent | Atlanta, GA | #20475

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking a Patent Agent to work with its Intellectual Property practice group in the Atlanta office. We are looking to add a team member with 3+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.

The individual will join a sophisticated practice that advises clients on the development and expansion of their IP portfolios, including identifying and protecting innovation related to cloud computing, machine learning/artificial intelligence, digital image processing, wireless communications and standards, autonomous vehicle technologies, automotive electrical systems, network and device security, augmented reality, mobility, consumer electronics, e-commerce, optics, wireless charging, and energy management. Additionally, the Patent Agent will help protect the innovations and have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including Fortune 100 companies, technology sector leaders, emerging companies, and universities.

We are seeking Patent Agents who possess:
  • Three or more years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineer or computer science (or the equivalent) and USPTO registration are required.
  • Skills and knowledge related to preparing patent applications for submission to the USPTO and responding to office actions from the USPTO and other patent offices.
  • A programing background or a working understanding of software coding, with a preference for experience with artificial intelligence.
  • Strong academic records, developed analytical skills, and impressive communication abilities.
  • A detail-oriented approach, the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice, a collaborative outlook, and confidence.
