POSITION SUMMARYKKR seeks to recruit an Associate to focus on supporting our complex reinsurance accounting processes across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, continuous improvement focus and ability to multitask. This individual will work effectively within the broader Accounting Operations team, supporting our close process and various projects, as well as collaborate frequently with FP&A, Investments Accounting, Bermuda Finance and other organizational stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIESThe Associate Reinsurance Accounting position is responsible for overseeing key accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting regulatory compliance within KKR's Insurance Segment while coordinating with other areas across the organization. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, including statutory accounting and GAAP, standard accounting processes, and SOX control frameworks. This role will provide support to key stakeholders across the organization to design, implement and facilitate accounting operational processes and to analyze financial data to support business decision-making.
- Ensure the processes in place support organizational needs, propose improvements in the operational framework, and drive efficiency initiatives
- Perform monthly and/or quarterly closing procedures, including preparation and posting of reinsurance journal entries, performing account reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Support treaty administration, including settlements, cash movements, and statement validation.
- Assist in reviewing treaty documentation for accuracy against contract terms.
- Maintain standard reinsurance reports for internal management and regulatory use.
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on reinsurance balances and reserves.
- Serve as accounting support during onboarding of new transactions.
- Support ongoing automation and finance transformation projects.
- Assist with audit requests and maintain control documentation.
- Participate in special projects with cross-functional impact.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree required in accounting or related field
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
- Big Four experience preferred (associate or higher)
- 4-8 years of related work experience with recent experience in insurance industry
- Experience with Oracle or SAP accounting systems preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated expertise in GAAP accounting standards and practices
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills

This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston/Des Moines -based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range $90,000 - $140,000 To be considered for this role, applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
