The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Test Engineering Associate Director to lead enterprise infrastructure validation, quality engineering, and non-functional testing initiatives across complex technology environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, resiliency, observability, and operational readiness of infrastructure platforms supporting critical business services.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in one or more infrastructure domains such as virtualization, networking, operating systems, cloud, storage, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or observability, with broad knowledge across the infrastructure ecosystem. This individual will work closely with engineering team, architecture, SRE, tools/platforms, operations, cybersecurity, and application teams to define test strategies, assess change impacts, identify dependency risks, and validate production readiness through automated and data-driven testing approaches.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead infrastructure test engineering strategy, planning, estimation, execution, reporting, and stakeholder sign-off for enterprise infrastructure services and components.
• Define risk-based test coverage for infrastructure configurations, standards, security controls, access permissions, operational baselines, performance, resiliency, observability, and infrastructure FMEA scenarios.
• Assess application-to-infrastructure dependencies and change blast radius to determine affected systems, test scope, sequencing, and regression requirements.
• Provide technical leadership in at least one core specialization while guiding integrated testing across Linux, Windows, networking, storage, virtualization, cloud, and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Infrastructure test strategy, readiness validation, NFR testing, dependency mapping, blast-radius assessment, defect management, and evidence-based sign-off.
• Design and oversee functional and non-functional infrastructure testing, including performance, scalability, failover, recovery, high availability, chaos/resiliency, capacity, and observability validation.
• Develop reusable test approaches and automation using Ansible / Chef Inspec and one or more scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Shell.
• Integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows using tools such as Jenkins, Git, or Bitbucket.
• Partner with platform engineering, SRE, architecture, operations, application, cybersecurity, and change teams to resolve risks and improve production readiness.
• Use logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts to validate service health, diagnose failures, and support root-cause analysis.
• Drive defect triage, evidence management, quality metrics, executive reporting, continuous improvement, and adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers, review technical deliverables, establish engineering standards, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Support governance, audit, compliance, and operational reviews through clear, reliable, and traceable test evidence.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Hands-on depth in at least one primary specialization in the Virtualization/Storage/Kubernetes/Network/OS/Systems Architecture/Non Functional testing/SRE/Observability, supported by working knowledge across multiple enterprise infrastructure domains.
• Cloud knowledge in AWS, Azure, or GCP and practical understanding of hybrid infrastructure.
• Leadership experience mentoring engineers and working across architecture, engineering, operations, SRE, cybersecurity, application, and change-management teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex infrastructure validation, change-impact assessment, defect resolution, and production-readiness decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical risks, quality status, and recommendations to engineering and leadership audiences.
• Systems thinking and the ability to connect applications, infrastructure components, dependencies, failure modes, and business impact.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed, hybrid-cloud, and containerized environments.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, automation, CI/CD, source control, monitoring, and test evidence management.
• Leadership mindset with a focus on engineering quality, risk reduction, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to balance deep technical investigation with clear prioritization and concise executive communication.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.

About the Team

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
