Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the enterprise infrastructure supporting the hybrid VPC and global IT infrastructure for the customer.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for infrastructure architecture development support.
- The Infrastructure Architect will translate architectural directions into support requirements, including detailed impact assessments on current operations, risk analysis of proposed migrations, and evaluation of the supportability of new technologies.
- In this role, you will document all findings, recommendations, and decisions and provide deliverables, such as architecture diagrams, impact and risk analysis reports, and supportability.
- You will conduct assessments as required and collaborate with customer designated stakeholders through regular meetings, workshops, and participation in architecture review boards as appropriate.
- You will contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure architectures for the IT environment, ensuring alignment with the DoS and Federal standards.
- The Infrastructure Architect will also provide standards support in developing, documenting, and maintaining IT infrastructure standards, with the goal of achieving standardized configurations across the organization.
- All standards shall align with DoS, Federal, and industry best practices, and be regularly reviewed and updated to reflect evolving requirements and support governance review processes.
- The Infrastructure Architect will also support long range planning.
- In this role, you will evaluate and recommend tools and processes that enhance the stability and functionality of the environment, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with customer enterprise architecture and infrastructure standards.
- Further, you will need to compare and assess requirements against both the current and planned infrastructure architecture to determine impact.
- You will be expected to identify opportunities to consolidate devices and services, leverage new technologies, and improve service delivery.
- The Infrastructure Architect will directly support customer permanent and ad hoc committees and working groups and addressing related issues.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following are the education and experience required for this position:
- 12+ years
- Bachelor's in IT or related field
- TOGAF or equivalent; cloud architect certification
- Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- COMP TIA Sec +; ITIL4 Foundation Certification(s)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
