Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Clinical Supervisor, RN in the Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit, plays a vital role in managing daily unit operations while providing exceptional patient care. This leader supports the team's professional development, ensures adherence to clinical protocols, and fosters a collaborative environment to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily clinical and operational activities of the Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit.
  • Act as a mentor and resource to nursing staff, supporting their professional growth and performance improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care and achieve unit goals.
  • Address and resolve patient or staff concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and hiring processes.
  • Monitor and analyze unit metrics to implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain an active presence on the unit to support staff and provide guidance.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Washington, D.C. (or ability to obtain before start).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a Progressive Care or Intermediate Care setting.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
