A Snapshot of Your DayWe are looking for an entrepreneurial Technical Sales Manager to lead the sales and business development activities for our growing HVDC business. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership for EPC projects valued at several hundred million dollars throughout the sales / acquisition phase. The role requires close coordination and teamwork with multiple Siemens Energy internal and external stakeholders including tender management, engineering, legal and a broad spectrum of entities such as business partners, suppliers, energy utilities, developers, permitting agencies, regulators, etc.

How You'll Make an Impact- Capturing and negotiating complex, large-scale HVDC projects in the electric power transmission space. Lead the preparation of offers and opportunities together with the broader Siemens Energy organization, driving large cross-functional capture teams during multiyear sales cycles.
- Owning overall opportunity and bid strategy throughout the acquisition phase, including win strategy, competitive positioning, risk assessment, and customer engagement plans.
- Early customer engagement to assess project developments -discuss potential solutions, timelines and alternative approaches to support our customers.
- Anticipating and understanding customer needs while developing optimized project solutions. Ensuring a value proposition is developed and well communicated to all stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, partner companies to optimize the overall solution.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key industry stakeholders such as consultants and partners.
- Monitor market trends, customer investment plans, competitor activity, and transmission development initiatives to support growth of the HVDC business.
- Leading strategy and negotiations for several hundred million-dollar EPC projects, including commercial risk allocation, consortium structures, contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and executive approvals.
What You Bring - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years energy industry experience in the areas of EPC project delivery, power transmission, or electrical utilities. HVDC specific expertise and advanced degrees such as MBA is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of the transmission market and business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements i.e. strategic and tactical thinking.
- Understanding of transmission development process, utility procurement processes, transmission planning, interconnection processes, renewable integration, and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership at utilities, developers, EPC contractors, consortium partners, and regulatory organizations.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout North America and occasional international travel for customer meetings, site visits, factory visits, conferences, and strategic planning activities.
