Job Title: HVACR Installation Manager (Commercial) - Former Field Technician Required

Location: Moorestown, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time

The Opportunity

This is not an entry-level management position, and it's not a role for someone who has spent their career behind a desk.

We're looking for a seasoned commercial HVACR professional who has progressed from the tools into leadership. Someone who understands every phase of an installation-from reviewing drawings and coordinating manpower to startup, commissioning, and customer turnover.

The ideal candidate is comfortable walking active job sites, solving technical issues in real time, supporting installation crews, communicating with customers, and keeping projects on schedule and on budget.

We need someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. If you still think like a technician, lead like a manager, and earn respect because you've been in the field, we'd love to talk with you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial HVACR installation projects from pre-construction planning through project completion.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and equipment schedules to ensure projects are set up for success before installation begins.
  • Verify complete system material requirements and parts lists, ensuring crews have everything needed before work starts.
  • Coordinate labor, subcontractors, equipment, deliveries, and scheduling to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to field installation teams, answering questions and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, maintain quality standards, and identify potential issues before they become costly delays.
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges using real-world field experience and develop practical solutions that keep projects on track.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, safety standards, and applicable mechanical codes.
  • Oversee equipment startups, commissioning activities, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal departments through proactive communication.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, change orders, and progress updates.
  • Mentor and develop installation technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Extensive hands-on commercial HVACR installation experience is required.
  • Previous experience as a commercial HVACR technician is required.
  • Experience leading installation crews, foremen, or large commercial HVACR projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, piping, controls, startup procedures, and commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the confidence to make sound field decisions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Why Join Rite Air Mechanical?
  • Join a company that values experienced field leaders and empowers them to make decisions.
  • Opportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing commercial installation team.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
  • Supportive leadership and a company culture built on quality, integrity, and doing the job right.

If you've built commercial HVACR systems, understand what it takes to lead successful installations, and are ready to take ownership of projects from start to finish, we'd like to hear from you.
