HVAC Mechanical Engineer Job Summary: The HVAC Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and development of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and federal projects. This role prepares engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures designs meet applicable codes, client requirements, and project schedules while delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects
- Perform Load/Energy calculations with software such as Trace 700, Carrier HAP, and similar programs
- Work with senior engineer to conduct building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems
- Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
- Write/edit project specifications
- Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
- Code compliance research
- Coordinate work with other disciplines
- Provide construction administration services
Qualifications and Experience:- 5-10 years of experience
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Strongly Preferred)
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and local building codes
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Travel: Some travel to US sites.
Compensation & Benefits: The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
