ResponsibilitiesMechanical Designer to support design efforts for HVAC. Below job requirements/preferred requirements relate to job tasks required for this position.
- Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling.
- Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
- Ability to plan, self-perform tasks and multi-task on multiple projects.
- The position requires the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems.
- Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
- Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
Qualifications- Associate degree in related discipline (HVAC or Fire Protection) with two or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC and/or Fire Sprinkler System Design and 6-10 years total experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
- Pre-employment Drug Screen - external applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
