Position Title: Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
As Equinox Gold continues to grow, we are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team and play a critical role in aligning HR policies with the organization's business objectives. The Human Resources Manager will support the operation in policy development, employment actions, and HR strategy. The HR Manager oversees recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce development to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assume site responsibility for developing company guidelines, policies, and procedures on employment and management issues.
Serve as the designated expert on interpreting human resource policies.
Develops and assists with implementing human resource programs for all local entities, compliant with federal and state labor law and legal requirements.
Maintains involvement in professional organizations associated with HR processes, procedures and policy development.
Consults with line management and provides HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyzes trends and metrics with the corporate HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies, looking forward 1-5 years.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day employee management, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance for line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
Manages end-to-end recruitment processes, including job posting, interviews and onboarding.
Organizes and oversees the performance management cycle.
Assists leadership with employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Develops processes for required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with increasing levels of responsibility.
Minimum of 10 years of leadership or management experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry or a related industry.
5+ years of experience in compensation and benefits.
2+ years of talent acquisition and recruitment experience.
3+ years of experience working with HRIS platforms and systems.
2+ years of experience supporting mergers and acquisitions.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
