A Snapshot of Your DaySiemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Laboratory Supervisor to lead testing operations within our Power Transformers Laboratory. Reporting to the Head of the Laboratory, this role oversees high-voltage electrical testing activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. You will lead a team of technicians, collaborate closely with customers and cross-functional partners, and drive continuous improvement across testing processes and capabilities.
How You'll Make an Impact- Lead and supervise a test team up to 5 employees executing power transformer test plans in compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure efficient execution and on-time delivery.
- Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing procedures, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
- Ensure team qualifications, competency development, and technical readiness.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve test procedures, methodologies, and best practices.
- Oversee test setups, equipment configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and project teams to resolve test issues and support root cause analysis.
- Manage test documentation, reports, and data analysis to support certification and quality assurance.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to budget planning and cross-functional technology development efforts.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience in high-voltage testing, preferably within power transformer manufacturing or related industries.
- Proven leadership experience leading or managing technical or test teams.
- Strong knowledge of transformer test standards, quality systems, and safety practices.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and IT tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to work flexible shift schedules for the first few months then transition to second shift.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- If not already located in Charlotte, NC, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided)
