Hematopathologist to join our team in
Phoenix, AZ.Work Schedule: Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm); possibility of rotating Saturdays
Job Responsibilities- Individual diagnostic evaluation of Hematopathology consultation specimens, Flow Cytometry specimens, and Bone Marrow Morphology specimens
- Accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested
- Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
- Provide expert consultation and discussions with referring Oncologists and Pathologists as needed, in person, by phone, or electronically
- Provide assistance to the Medical Director and Director of Hematopathology with administrative tasks as needed
- Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies
Minimum Qualifications- Medical Degree from an accredited college/university
- Arizona Licensed Physician
- Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Subspecialty Board Certification in Hematopathology
Additional Job Standards- Experience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferred
- Strong experience interpreting Flow Cytometry, Bone Marrow Morphology, and lymphoid tissue specimens
- Experience with Hematopathology consultations, including the use of ancillary testing such as Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), Cytogenetics, and Molecular Diagnostics
- Organized and efficient problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
