Full Job Description
Hematopathologist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm); possibility of rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities
  • Individual diagnostic evaluation of Hematopathology consultation specimens, Flow Cytometry specimens, and Bone Marrow Morphology specimens
  • Accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested
  • Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
  • Provide expert consultation and discussions with referring Oncologists and Pathologists as needed, in person, by phone, or electronically
  • Provide assistance to the Medical Director and Director of Hematopathology with administrative tasks as needed
  • Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies


Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical Degree from an accredited college/university
  • Arizona Licensed Physician
  • Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Subspecialty Board Certification in Hematopathology


Additional Job Standards
  • Experience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferred
  • Strong experience interpreting Flow Cytometry, Bone Marrow Morphology, and lymphoid tissue specimens
  • Experience with Hematopathology consultations, including the use of ancillary testing such as Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), Cytogenetics, and Molecular Diagnostics
  • Organized and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
