Full Job Description
Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Head of Tax & Asset Compliance who will own the solution domain that helps North American fleets meet their tax and asset compliance obligations while protecting profitability. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader - we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:

As a Head of Tax & Asset Compliance your key area of responsibility will be turning Geotab's telematics data into compliance outcomes (automated evidence, filings, and monitoring) that minimize compliance violations, fines, downtime, and administrative burden. You will need to work closely with the Tech Dev Board, Heads of Platform Domain, Heads of Segment Domain, peer Heads of Solution Domain, cross-functional domain teams (product managers, designers, product engineers), and external fleet customers.

To be successful in this role you will be a strategic leader with deep customer empathy, high adaptability, change readiness, and strong stakeholder management and communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have P&L literacy, commercial instinct, expertise in defining and tracking product KPIs, and the ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, customer experience, and technical execution.
How you'll make an impact:
  • Product Strategy & Vision: Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the domain, driving build/buy/partner decisions and evaluating emerging customer needs to strengthen market differentiation.
  • Business & Metric Ownership: Accountable for primary business KPAs (e.g., submission success rates, violations avoided) and driving adoption of compliance workflows.
  • Customer Value Delivery: Serve fleet operators, compliance managers, and asset owners as primary customers, defining and measuring experience metrics (adoption, time-to-value, NPS).
  • Cross-Segment Alignment: Partner with Heads of Segment Domain to ensure tax and asset compliance capabilities are packaged and positioned effectively for key market segments.
  • Feedback Loops & Experience Quality: Establish strong feedback loops with customers, sales, and support to resolve product gaps while owning UX quality standards across all domain surfaces.
  • People Leadership & Coaching: Provide mentoring, career development, and performance management to cross-functional teams, identifying and coaching high-potential, next-generation leaders.
  • Culture & Capacity Management: Foster a high-trust, high-accountability team culture focused on customer obsession and rapid iteration while managing team capacity across discovery and delivery.
  • Financial Stewardship & Investment: Own the domain investment portfolio, leading annual planning for budget, headcount, and OKRs while balancing growth, quality, and capability bets.
  • Executive & Board Reporting: Translate board-level direction into execution plans and regularly report on domain outcomes, revenue contributions, and delivery health to executive leadership.
  • Cross-Domain & Platform Collaboration: Partner with Heads of Platform Domain to leverage shared infrastructure/APIs and coordinate with peer solution domains to eliminate duplication.
  • Community & Strategic Leadership: Participate in practitioner communities (Engineering, Product, Design) and lead board-appointed, cross-functional initiatives across domains.
  • Organizational Strategic Alignment: Support company-wide strategic initiatives, including AI workflow adoption, security posture, accessibility, and compliance programs
What you'll bring to this role:
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product engineering, or related customer-facing product roles.
  • 5+ years of senior product and people leadership with cross-functional scope and direct accountability for customer-facing business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Strong product leadership capability with demonstrated ability to define and execute customer-facing product strategy tied to measurable business outcomes, with P&L literacy and revenue attribution.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience managing teams across product management, product design, and product engineering disciplines, with proven capability in identifying and coaching high-potential leaders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, change readiness, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with platform teams, segment leads, and executive leadership in evolving organizational structures.
  • Familiarity with modern product discovery, validation practices, and engineering practices (CI/CD, cloud-native delivery, agile), alongside the ability to redesign domain workflows around AI to compress effort.

If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
