The Role

We're looking for a Head of Production Finance within the Animation Ink studio, to build and lead the production finance function from the ground up. This person will partner with senior creative, business, technology, and production leaders to establish sound financial infrastructure, own budgeting and reporting across the business, and build processes that will scale with INK as it grows. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how production finance operates in a brand-new part of Netflix, and to be the senior production finance voice and partner for the business from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Production Finance point of contact and trusted advisor for INK, partnering with senior creative, business, technology, and production leadership.

  • Build and lead a small, high-performing production finance team, providing mentoring, coaching, and development as INK scales.

  • Own end-to-end financial management of INK’s slate, including production budgets, estimated final costs, cost reports, and cash flow.

  • Design and implement production finance processes, EFCs, policies, and tools suited to a startup environment, adapting standard Netflix Production Finance practices where needed.

  • Liaise with HR, Labor Relations, Content Accounting, FP&A, Internal Audit, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and IT to stand up and maintain production finance operations.

  • Manage production incentive strategy and workflow, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of tax credits or cash rebates.

  • Review budgets, cost reports, trial balances, and reconciliations; identify risk areas early and partner cross-functionally to resolve them.

  • Represent Production Finance in conversations with Netflix leadership, acting as a strategic business partner and steward for the function.

  • Research and evaluate new tools and technologies to support production finance at INK, recommending what to adopt as the entity scales.

  • Stand up relevant systems, partnering with Netflix IT and cross-functional teams where needed.

  • Stretch to assist with additional corporate operations functions and projects in INK as needed

  • Bring an Inclusion & Diversity lens to leadership and team-building, helping create an equitable, inclusive environment as the team grows.

  • Stay current on industry trends, production incentives, and evolving infrastructure relevant to the INK slate.

Qualifications

  • 10-12+ years of production finance and/or production accounting experience, including experience leading and developing a team. Direct animation experience is highly preferred.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes from scratch; a builder mentality suited to a startup environment.

  • Strong understanding of production budgeting, cost reporting, cash flow management, and production incentives.

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of GL systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and production accounting systems (e.g., Global Vista, PSL+).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adjust to different audiences and represent Production Finance credibly across the business.

  • Solutions-focused, proactive, and curious, with sound judgment on team structure, hiring, and talent decisions.

We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience.   The overall market range for this role is typically$250,000-410,000.
