We9re looking for the person to build ThoughtSpot9s community function from the ground up, reporting to the CMO. You9ll have direct access to Marketing, Product, and Customer Success leadership, ThoughtSpot9s full customer base, and a matrixed team for content and events support from day one.
Your Goal: find what works, launch a flagship community program, and build the playbook to scale it to [placeholder - target member count, champions certified, or engagement metric] within the first year.
What You9ll Do- Own community strategy. Define who this is for, where they gather, and what keeps them coming back - forums, events, champions programs, or something we haven9t tried yet.
- Build the gathering places. Stand up the platforms, rituals, and events (in-person and virtual) where users actually want to show up.
- Turn users into advocates. Find your most engaged customers, get them talking to each other, and turn that energy into case studies, referrals, and champions.
- Close the loop with Product. Spend time where users are. Bring what you hear straight back to Product and Marketing - no filter, no delay.
- Make community a growth channel. Work with Growth and PMM so community activity shows up in pipeline, retention, and expansion, not just engagement metrics.
- Build the operating model. Turn what works in year one into a repeatable program the next hire can scale.
Who We9re Looking For- This is a high-ownership role. You9ll have the resources of ThoughtSpot behind you and the freedom to build community the way it should actually work, not the way it9s always been done.
- You9ve built or run a community before - at a startup, an open-source project, a product-led company, or somewhere else entirely.
- You understand that community only works when it works for our users first - if it doesn9t move the needle for them, it9s noise.
- You think in relationships, not campaigns. You9re in this for the long term, not the next quarter9s numbers.
- You can run events, forums, and digital programs, and you know which one fits which moment.
- You move fast, test constantly, and don9t wait for a detailed brief to get something started.
- You can read data - engagement, retention, advocacy - and use it to double down on what9s working.
- You communicate clearly and directly with customers, product teams, and executives alike.
- We value what you9ve built versus your title or years of experience.
