Full Job Description
Location: NYC (onsite only - not remote)
We9re hiring a Head of Capital Formation to own fundraising for Alliance9s venture funds end to end: strategy, pipeline, LP relationships, and close. You9ll report directly to a General Partner.
What you9ll do
Own the raise: Lead and execute Alliance9s capital formation plan across institutional allocators (fund of funds, family offices, endowments, wealth management platforms, sovereign wealth) and HNWIs. You source, you pitch, you close.
Build and run the LP pipeline: Own lead sourcing, qualification, and pipeline management. Bring the right prospects to the General Partners at the right moment, and run the process through to signed commitments.
Be the voice of Alliance to investors: Serve as the main point of contact for prospective LPs. Communicate our strategy, track record, and edge clearly. Own the deck, data room, and investor materials.
Turn LPs into repeat LPs: Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective allocators. Keep them close between raises and bring them back fund after fund.
Shape the strategy: Work with the GPs on fund positioning, sizing, timing, and the long-term investor relations plan.
What we9re looking for
Capital raising track record: 5+ years raising for venture, private equity, private credit, or hedge funds, with closed commitments from institutional investors and HNWIs you can point to. Venture fund experience strongly preferred.
An existing allocator network: Warm relationships with fund of funds, family offices, consultants, and HNWIs. This is a must have.
Crypto/AI fluency: 2+ years in crypto, fintech, or tech. You can hold your own with allocators on the thesis, not just the process.
Sales and relationship skills: Clear communicator, strong negotiator, high degree of professionalism and discretion.
Pipeline discipline: Can run a long sales cycle in a CRM, keep the funnel full, and automate where it makes sense.
Entrepreneurial and high agency: Self-driven, spots what9s broken, and takes ideas through to completion.
Frequent travel: NYC is home base, but you9ll be on the road often, including SF and internationally.
Strong qualifications (nice to have)
Raised for an emerging manager or an early fund, where you sold on conviction rather than a 20-year track record.
Relationships with crypto-native or AI-focused allocators.
Prior placement agent or in-house IR experience at a venture firm.
Why NOT join us
Not willing to get hands dirty: doesn9t matter how important you were in past organizations; at Alliance we9re all builders, not managers (even though many of us were managers in past lives). There9s no IR team under you.
Prioritizing work/life balance: this role demands focus, hunger, and a career-defining level of commitment. You must be locked in.
Low agency: if you need someone else to set your priorities or keep you on track, you will fail.
You can9t relocate to NYC. This is non-negotiable: our founders are here, our brand is strongest here, and so are we. You9ll travel to SF often, but you9ll live in New York.
Why join us
Own the raise, share the upside: salary plus fund carry. Your work decides how much capital the next generation of Alliance founders gets to build with, and who backs them.
Sell a real track record: 300+ startups backed since 2020, now collectively valued at $15B+, and a brand that9s strongest exactly where the capital is.
Work with the most ambitious founders in crypto and AI. Learn firsthand from hundreds of startups succeeding - or failing.
Join a small, high-trust, high-performance team with outsized impact. We9re ex-Meta, WhatsApp, Coinbase, YC, and have collectively founded multiple venture-backed startups.
We9re backed by S-tier investors including Initialized Capital, Founders Fund, Multicoin, and Dragonfly, along with angels such as Balaji Srinivasan (ex-Coinbase CTO), Kevin Weil (CPO at OpenAI), Kevin Lin (Twitch co-founder), and Jeremy Allaire (Circle CEO), among many others.
Career accelerator: this role sets you up, experience- and network-wise, for any high-impact path in crypto/AI - at venture firms, startups, or raising your own fund.
Alliance startups are reinventing industries - from media to payments - and improving the lives of everyday people. You9ll have a front-row seat as they change the world.
