What You'll Do
• Defining and capturing hardware system features, functions, and interfaces, and guiding our avionics projects through development and certification.
• Writing hardware specifications, requirements, and test procedures, and making sure our products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Turning technical standards into system requirements and test plans and leading the definition and capture of certification and compliance requirements.
• Leading the development effort through every phase of a formal software and hardware lifecycle, per Avidyne's internal processes, DO-178C, and DO-254 as required.
• Completing System Safety Assessments (SSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Predictions per FAA guidance and industry or military standards.
• Tracing system requirements to hardware component requirements, and verification test cases back to requirements, so system verification is complete.
• Performing verification tests, and authoring and releasing verification reports.
• Managing the System Engineering and Verification Document Tree.
• Taking part in design reviews that lead to well-developed test plans and procedures and coordinating them.
• Building and maintaining relationships with customers, FAA certification authorities, and other key stakeholders.
