Full Job Description
About the role

Advisors play an essential role in Canadian group benefits. Employers lean on their advisors to find the right plan, and advisors bring their clients to the partners they trust. Rise Health was built for that relationship. We work through advisors, and we give them something new to offer: a benefits plan that lives inside the employer's payroll and HR platform, with self-enrolment, a single invoice, and payroll reconciliation built in. Plenty of advisors already quote with us, and many more haven't met us yet.

That's where you come in. You'll own the advisor channel: finding the advisors who should be quoting with Rise Health, earning their trust, and turning that trust into a steady flow of quotes. Then you'll work each deal yourself, from first call to close. You can hold your own in a room full of benefits people because you've spent years in that room.

You'll report to the President of Rise Health. The advisor network you build is how Rise Health grows.

The day-to-day
  • Grow Rise Health's advisor network across Canada. Deepen relationships with advisors who quote with us and win over the many who don't yet.
  • Work each opportunity from specifications to signed case: review the specs an advisor sends, coordinate the quote, present the proposal, explain pricing and plan deviations, and answer the questions that decide the deal.
  • Manage the client leads advisors bring to Rise Health, and keep every one of them moving.
  • Keep your pipeline and forecast current in our CRM. Rise plans against your numbers.
  • Represent Rise Health at industry events and in the advisor community, with some travel across Canada. People will expect you to know where group benefits is heading.
  • Share what you know so newer teammates learn the industry faster.

About you
  • 5+ years in Canadian group benefits (carrier, TPA, advisory, or benefits-tech side), with real fluency in plan design and pricing.
  • A valid provincial life insurance licence (LLQP) and willingness to hold licences in other provinces as your advisors' clients require.
  • Full-cycle sales experience. You've sourced and closed your own opportunities.
  • Comfort with people you've just met, in person or on a call.
  • You work a plan, keep your CRM current, and know the rules of a regulated industry and how to win within them.
  • You're curious about technology and use AI tools to get more done.
  • A habit of teaching newer colleagues what you know rather than guarding it.
  • Bonus: Established relationships in the Canadian advisor and broker community.
  • Bonus: GBA or CEBS designation, completed or in progress.
  • Bonus: Bilingual proficiency in French and English.

What Rise offers
  • Rise is all about creating a positive company culture, both for our clients and our employees. We believe that happiness isn't the cause of employee engagement; it's the result.
  • This position offers a base salary of $90,000-$110,000, based on experience, and on-target earnings (OTE) of $140,000-$160,000.
  • We offer stock options to all employees.
  • We offer a remote work environment. On occasion, we may meet as a team or one-on-one in person.
  • Rise believes that time off is just as important as time spent. We offer 3 weeks of paid vacation, flexible personal wellness days, as well as one day off for your birthday and your work anniversary.
  • We support your growth with a personal $1,000 learning and development budget to take courses, attend conferences, webinars, you name it!
  • We offer no-wait benefits. This means that starting your first day, you have access to our comprehensive benefits package, which includes dental, eye care, and $2,000 in counselling coverage, among many other great health benefits.
