How you will make an impact - Description of the Opportunity: The
Grant Strategy & Education Initiatives Supervisor oversees and supports the coordination, alignment, and organization for the Workforce Development Department's grant strategy and education-focused initiatives to ensure consistency with the organization's mission, board priorities, strategic plan, and regional workforce goals. This role will work closely with and under the direction of the Assistant Director of Workforce Development. This role supervises staff, oversees and supports the daily operations of a team coordinating cross-functional efforts and establishing systems that strengthen alignment across grant-related activities and education initiatives. The supervisor provides guidance to team members, ensures consistent organizational practices, and supports leadership in positioning the workforce development department for strategic funding opportunities.
Areas of Responsibility:- Grant Strategy & Funding Opportunities
Lead a coordinated grant-seeking strategy aligned with organizational and regional priorities. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize funding opportunities based on strategic alignment, organizational capacity, partner requirements, sustainability, and regional goals. - Education Initiative Oversight
Supervise and support education and workforce-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with regional needs, Workforce Development priorities, and NCTCOG goals. - Centralized Grant Coordination & Organization
Develop centralized processes for coordinating, documenting, and tracking grant-related activities to improve consistency, accountability, and efficiency. - Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate grant and education initiatives across Workforce Development. Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and NCTCOG partners. - Grant Visibility & Alignment
Monitor internally coordinated and partner-led grant opportunities, including key milestones, organizational involvement, and anticipated support needs. - Training & Capacity Building
Develop training, tools, templates, and guidance to support consistent grant processes and strengthen staff and partner readiness. - Partner & Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with education providers, workforce partners, and regional stakeholders. Facilitate meetings and workgroups to promote communication and alignment. - Systems Development & Continuous Improvement
Develop tools and processes to track grant activities, partner engagement, and initiative alignment. Identify gaps and recommend improvements to leadership.
Desired Skills:- Previous supervisory experience leading professional staff.
- Experience coordinating grants, strategic initiatives, workforce development, education programs, or cross-functional projects.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate funding opportunities and assess alignment with organizational and regional priorities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and experience developing organizational processes, tools, and tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
Required Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
Compensation: - FLSA: Exempt
- Starting Salary: $80,785.00 - $100,981.00 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
Officing:- This position is located at the NCTCOG main campus in Arlington.

- NCTCOG participates in a defined contribution plan as an alternative to Social Security. The defined contribution retirement plan provides retirement benefits for all eligible employees. NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees' gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOG's contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent {15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
