As an Investigation Manager, you will conduct a diverse array of investigative work over whistleblowing allegations including potential improprieties by external parties, such as agents and vendors, and violations of AXA XL's Code of Conduct and established policies by employees.
You will be responsible for performing an initial assessment of each allegation's level of severity, creating an investigative plan, interacting with stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Claims, Human Resource, Legal, Underwriting), gathering evidence, leading sensitive interviews, providing a recommendation on action(s) to be taken, and preparing a report in support of work performed and decisions reached. You will also assist the AXA XL Head of Investigations in preparing activity reports to be shared with executive management and Audit Committee members.
What you'll be doingWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
- Conducting global internal investigations into violations of AXA XL Corporate policies, regulation or law either self-directed or partnering with cross-functional teams
- Developing and executing investigative plans to gather information to assess validity of allegations
- Communicating with stakeholders during the investigations, including members of the Compliance, Human Resources and Legal teams, as well as other key stakeholders
- Performing complex investigations and monitoring related activities performed by others within AXA XL covering matters across the division involving multicultural teams and stakeholders
- Conducting effective interviews at multiple levels of seniority in complex and sometimes sensitive investigations
- Collecting and analysing relevant facts and evidence pertaining to the specific case in support of or to refute an allegation
- Partnering with Subject Matter Experts, e.g. Compliance, Legal and HR to determine appropriate corrective actions and outcomes. preparing concise and meaningful reports following the completion of investigations and ensuring adherence to all AXA XL Investigations standards. providing timely and meaningful updates pertaining to in-progress and completed investigations and keeping the AXA XL Head of Investigations updated on the status of assigned investigations
- Advising concerned parties of outcomes and next steps
- Training, coaching, guiding and supervising audit team members assigned to investigations, ensuring work is performed consistently and in accordance with AXA XL Investigations standards
- Continuous improvement including reviewing investigations standards and harmonizing with best practices within AXA Group Investigations.
You will report to the AXA XL Head of Investigations. This role may involve international travel (up to 10%), as needed in conjunction with investigative activities, and a flexible work schedule to facilitate interactions with individuals located across the world.

- Solid experience with fraud or financial crime investigations, or relevant background in other forensic investigation environment
- Experience with High-risk HR Investigations desirable
- Legal background desirable but not required
- Continuous learning mindset and motivation to furthering your understanding about investigative techniques and insurance industry
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing for and conducting investigation interviews
- Effective oral and written communication
- Outstanding project management, including ability to conduct multiple, concurrent investigations

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 106,500 - 186,400.
