Full Job Description

At AstraZeneca, our franchise teams are pivotal in driving launch and commercial effectiveness, setting direction to shape the cancer care landscape and empower care teams. We seek a highly motivated Global Commercial Director to join our EGFR team and be part of bringing EGFR lung cancer treatment to more patients globally.


Typical Accountabilities:


  • Drive brand strategy implementation, tactical planning and flawless execution of key launch deliverables in partnership with Global and local markets in line with the expectations from the AZ business cycles
  • Partner with key markets to understand performance drivers/barriers and evolve plans to maximize the business
  • Support ongoing insights development and engagement with experts, community HCPs and patient groups.  Shape and apply insights to brand strategy and implementation
  • Drive well-coordinated and high-impact plans for maximizing opportunities at key congresses - collaborating with respective AZ teams
  • Develop patient strategies and deliverables, shaping and advancing plans for optimizing the patient experience
  • Strengthen internal community: provide leadership across markets, cross-pollinate launch learnings, and support other engagement and communications efforts
  • Partner closely with brand and indication teams to ensure alignment of above-asset initiatives with brand led initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with and provide direction to cross-functional partners (e.g. Insights, Access, Medical, Sales, Training, Corporate Affairs) for the development and implementation of both strategic and operational plans
  • Accountable for engaging with Regional/Country teams to ensure alignment and share learnings across markets
  • Develop and deliver key brand presentations to leadership
  • Manage agency relationships, workflow, and commercial budget

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. 
  • 5+ years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry, with experience in brand marketing, strategic planning, market research, or sales
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, impactful marketing communications
  • Strong ability to manage complex projects and work within a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and work collaboratively across functions and markets
  • Must have strong "team-player" mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Ability to proactively tackle complex challenges based on scientific curiosity and strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to translate scientific data into commercial strategy and action

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $180,656.80 - $270,985.20 USD Annual.  Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
