Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

Advanced Energy is seeking a Global Account Manager (GAM) to lead strategic customer engagement and drive growth across hyperscale, cloud, and data center markets. This role combines global account ownership with targeted business development, supporting both established hyperscale customers and emerging platforms. The GAM partners closely with Field Application Engineering (FAE), product management, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to deliver differentiated solutions that address the technical and operational requirements of large-scale infrastructure customers worldwide. This is a senior individual contributor role with global scope, high visibility, and significant customer-facing responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Customer Engagement & Strategic Account Leadership
    • Serve as the primary commercial and strategic point of contact for major global hyperscale and data center customers.
    • Build trusted relationships with senior technical, sourcing, operations, and executive stakeholders.
    • Lead executive-level customer engagements, providing strategic guidance and managing complex commercial discussions.
    • Act as an escalation point for critical customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
    • Identify and develop new opportunities with Tier-2 hyperscalers, neocloud providers, and select enterprise customers.
    • Lead early-stage customer engagement, opportunity qualification, and platform positioning.
    • Translate market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights into actionable growth strategies.
    • Partner with internal teams to transition successful business development initiatives into long-term strategic accounts.


  • Technical & Market Leadership
    • Maintain strong technical understanding of hyperscale and data center architectures, workloads, and operational trends.
    • Collaborate with FAEs and product teams to align technical solutions with customer requirements and business objectives.
    • Represent Advanced Energy at customer meetings, technical forums, and industry events.


  • Strategic & Operational Execution
    • Align account strategies with go-to-market initiatives.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution across global accounts.
    • Support forecasting, demand planning, and long-range customer visibility.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role will be based out of the Milpitas, CA office
  • Environment: time split between AE office and customer sites as appropriate
  • Travel: willingness to travel globally, up to 50%


EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in global account management or strategic sales
  • Experience supporting hyperscale, cloud, data center, or AI infrastructure customers
  • Strong business acumen and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment.


EDUCATION:
  • BSEE degree or similar technical bachelor's degree required


COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting base salary for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 per year. Additionally, this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
