Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the hotel and maximize return on revenue (ROR)
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the hotel team to enhance performance and morale
  • Anticipate and address opportunities and challenges by being visible on the property
  • Support the Guidance Team in achieving business objectives and brand representation
  • Develop and implement successful operational concepts
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain positive online reputation

Full Job Description
Our dream General Manager is a proven thought leader, an experienced innovator, true tastemaker and hospitality guru. They're energetic, exuberant and impeccably spoken, as well as a beloved leader and mentor for almost anyone on the Silicon Valley team. The role will also oversee all aspects of the hotel's daily operations, from maximizing ROR to going above and beyond to fulfill specific guest requests. You'll play a key role in supporting the Guidance Team's achievement of its objectives, and you'll always represent the best face of the brand.

Requirements for Success...

  • Previous experience in operating a lifestyle property
  • Leadership skills to include the ability to articulate a strong vision for the hotel, embedding the values, being able to narrate how we are doing and where we are heading, to take and move the whole team in one direction
  • Strong people manager and developer with the ability to positively influence others, to develop a strong and cohesive team, and to create a culture focused on delivering the highest levels of customer scores and online reputation
  • Visibility in your property with both guests and team members alike, and ability to use this to really keep your finger on the pulse anticipating opportunities and challenges alike
  • An ability to think for oneself whilst understanding the difference between autonomy and accountability, without a constant need to check and/or waiting to be told what to do
  • Strong business acumen with proven track record of delivering across key business metrics and a balanced score card
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of all commercial and financial aspects of hotel operations
  • Proven track record in developing, rolling out and operating successful concepts
  • A highly driven and dynamic attitude with a passion for hospitality that transfers into everything you do
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, verbally, in writing and in presentation mode


About you...
  • Passionate about leading a hotel operations team with a minimum of 10 years of progressive related work experience in an upper upscale and/or luxury hotel environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years as a General Manager in an upper upscale and/or lifestyle hotel.
  • An expert in hotel operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
  • Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
