Full Job Description
The General Manager of Ads puts you at the helm of defining and delivering a bold advertising strategy that fuels growth, unlocks new revenue streams, and shapes the future of digital monetization. You'll drive revenue for one of the largest Retail Media Networks in the world, grow adoption for our core products, partner with large Brands and Agencies, and lead high-impact partnerships across the ad tech ecosystem. Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams, you'll balance business results with great user experiences. It's a high-visibility opportunity for a strategic, creative, and commercially-minded leader to build and scale a next-gen advertising platform employing AI to drive platform innovation and performance.

What you will accomplish:

Advertising Strategy & Vision: Define and implement the company-wide advertising strategy, aligning it with business goals, product roadmap, and market opportunities. Identify new monetization models and advertising formats across owned digital properties (e.g., display, video, native, commerce media). Drive the long-term vision for platform advertising, balancing user experience with revenue growth.

Business Development & Revenue Growth: Lead development of advertising partnerships with brands, agencies, DSPs, SSPs, and ad tech platforms. Own advertising revenue targets, pricing strategy, and yield management across all inventory types. Inform go-to-market strategies and programmatic monetization efforts

Product & Platform Collaboration: Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define requirements, technology integrations, and scalable infrastructure. Partner on the launch of new advertising products, personalization engines, AI-driven targeting capabilities, and attribution models. Ensure compliance with privacy laws and advertising standards.

Measurement, Insights & Optimization: Establish performance frameworks, KPIs, and real-time dashboards for ad revenue, user engagement, and ROI. Guide A/B testing and continuous optimization of creative formats, targeting, and ad placement. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, product, and partner strategy.

Leadership & Organizational Development: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing advertising organization, including sales, ad ops, partnerships, and strategy. Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence within the advertising team. Represent advertising in board-level discussions, investor relations, and corporate planning.

What you will bring:
  • 12+ years of experience in digital advertising, media monetization, or platform strategy, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Deep experience with partnering with Brands, Agencies and Ad Tech companies.
  • Experience running Retail Media Networks is a plus
  • Strong track record of leading advertising strategy in tech-enabled companies (e.g., marketplaces, SaaS, mobile apps, streaming).
  • An understanding of how to harness AI tools and machine learning technologies to optimize advertising performance and team efficiency.
  • MBA or equivalent business/strategy training preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent executive presence, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Commercially driven with a user-first approach
  • Strategic and systems-oriented thinker
  • Highly collaborative with strong executive influence
  • Innovative, data-driven, and resilient in ambiguity
  • Passionate about the evolution of the advertising landscape
