DescriptionPosition DescriptionBard High School Early College Baltimore (BHSEC Baltimore), a partnership between Bard College and the Baltimore City Public Schools in Baltimore (BCPS), invites applications for full-time faculty positions in Physics or Biology. Candidates will teach courses in their fields of specialization, as well as interdisciplinary courses in the Sciences.
Position DutiesWe seek educators passionate about their fields of study and committed to advancing equity through rigorous curricula made accessible to students with varied academic preparation. The successful applicant must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels. In addition, candidates will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service. A graduate degree in the field and college teaching experience is required; high school teaching experience, and/or experience working with high school-age students is desirable.
Start Date: August 2026
Compensation: $60,662-$118,411 (compensation commensurate with experience and based on school district pay scale)

Qualifications- M.A. or M.S. in Physics or Biology, or related field (Masters Degree required; Ph.D. preferred)
- Experience teaching at both high school and college levels (desired)
- The ideal candidate will understand cultural differences and purposefully help to uplift ideas from underrepresented groups to improve the equity balance in education. They will be committed to reducing and possess an openness to learning about potential barriers to inclusion.
