Full Job Description
Position Overview: This role builds and maintains the front end of our decision-support tools using Angular. The Front-End Developer works with our product and technical teams to make complex information related to health care and health coverage choices clear and easy to use for consumers.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 annually
Schedule: This is a hybrid position that is required to commute to our Washington, DC office 3 times per week. Our current required office days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third day of your choice. Our office is conveniently located by both the Farragut North and Farragut West metro stations. Our core office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in developing and deploying Angular, React, and/or Next.js applications.
Proficiency in TypeScript and modern web development frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, or jQuery).
Styling using CSS/SASS/Bootstrap/Tailwind.
Experience with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience using front-end unit testing frameworks.
Understanding of how a web application divides responsibility across layers - the back end owns business rules and security enforcement, the database owns persistence, and the front end owns presentation and user interaction - and how to keep the front end decoupled from the back end by relying on stable API contracts, structuring the UI as reusable, testable components.
Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
Interest in learning about consumer choices in health insurance and healthcare.
