As a Forward Deployed Engineer (Defense), you'll bring Tomorrow.io's technology directly into mission environments, working alongside U.S. defense customers to deploy, integrate, and operationalize our platform where it matters most. You'll partner closely with Business Development, Product, Engineering, and strategic partners to ensure our solutions become embedded in real-world operations, helping shape both customer success and the future of our defense offerings.
What You'll Do- Deploy and operationalize Tomorrow.io's SaaS platform, APIs, and data services within U.S. defense organizations, mission environments, and military exercises
- Travel 50%+ to customer sites, operational units, and experimentation events, serving as the primary technical resource during field engagements
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot API integrations with defense systems, including Palantir Foundry, Gotham, and other mission platforms
- Partner with the Defense Business Development team to support technical discovery, customer demonstrations, pilot programs, and strategic growth opportunities
- Build trusted relationships with operators, technical stakeholders, and partner organizations to drive long-term adoption and expansion
- Capture field insights, customer feedback, and operational requirements to influence Tomorrow.io's product roadmap and future capabilities
- Develop repeatable deployment processes, integration playbooks, and technical documentation that enable scalable customer implementations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and external partners to deliver seamless technical solutions
- Represent Tomorrow.io as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring customers realize measurable operational value from our platform
What You Bring- 4-8 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Technical Implementation, Sales Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role
- Experience deploying SaaS platforms, APIs, or cloud-based software solutions in customer environments
- Strong understanding of API integrations, data workflows, and technical troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and operational users
- Experience supporting government, defense, or mission-critical technology programs is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Palantir Foundry, Gotham, AIP, or comparable operational platforms is a plus
- Comfortable working independently in dynamic, fast-paced customer environments with extensive travel (50%+)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (active clearance is strongly preferred)
- Military experience is not required, but confidence working with defense organizations and operational teams is essential

Anticipated salary range for this role is $130-150k + variable pay, subject to local market and candidates skills and experience. Comprehensive health benefits, unlimited paid time off and other benefits included. Relocation assistance may be offered/available for certain roles.
