Financial AnalystIII-Model Profitability to join our
Motorsports Team at our
Marietta facility. This role will support the development and ongoing use of model-level profitability and product-cost planning across
Yamaha Motorsports. You will work cross functionally with Finance leadership, IT, Business Intelligence, and data owners to help organize and reconcile product, sales, cost, and financial data. Additionally, you will own recurring margin analysis, forecasts, reporting, and scenario modeling. The analyst partners with Product Line Managers and Finance leadership to explain margin drivers and support pricing, mix, lifecycle, and cost decisions.
What you'll be doing:- Support the development and maintenance of the model-level profitability framework, including cost and revenue definitions, allocation logic, model hierarchies, and recurring reporting.
- Prepare and maintain product-level cost plans for budget, revised forecast, mid-term plan, and long-term plan cycles using approved assumptions and methodologies.
- Analyze actual and projected model profitability, including price, volume, mix, cost, discount, and lifecycle impacts; explain variances and identify risks and opportunities.
- Build, reconcile, and maintain model-level datasets and analytical tools by combining ERP, sales, product, and cost data in partnership with IT, Business Intelligence, and data owners.
- Partner with Product Line Managers, Product Planning, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather assumptions, evaluate scenarios, and support pricing, mix, lifecycle, and cost decisions.
- Prepare and communicate recurring profitability reports, decision-support materials, and concise insights for Finance and product-line stakeholders.
- Support month-end close and planning activities with model-level analysis, issue follow-up, and reconciliation to management reporting.
What you'll need to be successful:- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field required.
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in FP&A, product finance, cost accounting, commercial finance, or a related analytical function. - Experience supporting product, model, or SKU-level profitability, product-cost planning, financial modeling, or comparable analytical work using multiple data sources.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional, and affiliated company teams, including presenting financial information clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise.
- Experience with enterprise ERP and business-intelligence environments required; SAP, Power BI, and experience in power sports, automotive, manufacturing, or consumer-durable industries preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, including Power Query, PivotTables, scenario analysis, and handling large datasets.
- Working knowledge of Power BI data modeling and visualization, or a comparable BI platform; SQL experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of product margin, gross-to-net revenue, standard and actual cost, landed cost, cost allocation, and price-volume-mix analysis.
- Ability to reconcile multiple data sources to financial results, investigate differences, document calculation logic, and maintain controls.
- Strong analytical judgment and curiosity, with the ability to identify root causes and escalate issues in incomplete or inconsistent data.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain financial and data topics to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong ownership, organization, and project-management skills, with the ability to balance process-development work and recurring FP&A deadlines.
