Job Description:
Pay range: $37.56 - $56.41
Assists in the evaluation and analysis of the financial condition of Palomar Health programs and facilities. Often recommends changes to operating process and procedures to achieve the most cost effective alternative. Serves as a resource for Palomar Health managers and directors on the financial performance of their respective responsibilities. Frequently accesses the cost accounting / decision support system to evaluate financial performance and assists in calculation of costs when needed. Participates in the preparation of capital and operating budgets. Responsible for assisting with the support and maintenance of the capital budget, operating budget, benchmarking, and productivity software systems, as well as other systems used in the Financial Planning Department. Responsible for periodic system maintenance under the direction of the System Administrator. Aides in the training and education of Palomar Health leaders on the software, as well as general budget and financial concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and is capable of moderate to high degree of independence in the performance of tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, due to the extensive interaction with department directors and executives that this position requires. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree; Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Management
Minimum Experience: 3 years acute healthcare financial management
Preferred Experience: 5 years acute healthcare financial management
