The opportunity

We are seeking a creative problem solver who enjoys working in teams and has experience in finance and consulting to bring their expertise to our team. As a Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the team to analyze financial data, develop strategies, and present the team's findings to clients. You will work closely with other consultants and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Recognizing the changing and fast-paced professional landscape, you will team with engagement leadership to bring our broad range of capabilities and insights to enhance the effectiveness of the finance and operations function. You will be part of our Finance Transformation team and help clients by focusing on providing business advisory services that achieve measurable benefits in operational efficiency and strategic decision making.

As part of the Finance Transformation team, you will actively participate in engagements covering the following expertise areas:
  • Finance Transformation Strategy & Roadmap
  • Financial Statement Close & Consolidations
  • FP&A, Controlling Excellence & Management Reporting
  • Finance Operating Model Design
  • Finance & Accounting Process Improvement, Mapping and Documentation
  • Global Business Services including Shared Service Centers, Outsourcing

What you will do

As a Finance Transformation Manager or Senior Manager, you are expected to utilize your knowledge and experience to provide innovative solutions to clients as well as produce insightful thought leadership. You'll actively contribute to improving operational efficiency and ensuring high quality on projects and internal initiatives. Your role in leading teams (or parts of teams) on projects will depend on the size of engagement and will be under responsibility of higher levels, they will also look to you to anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate. Additionally, you will establish, maintain, and strengthen client relationships as a trusted business advisor, and identify potential business opportunities for EY.

As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture and will actively coach and counsel junior team members to help them develop.

Client responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Finance Transformation engagements, which involves advising clients on their internal finance strategy, operating models, and financial processes
  • Assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking budget and communicating issues to project leaders
  • Participate in business development initiatives (POVs, Proposals, NextWave Sessions, among others)
  • Build strong internal relationships within Consulting and across other services


People Management responsibilities
  • Keep people at center through effective supervising, coaching, and mentoring of staff members
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
  • Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Finance Transformation professionals
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills and knowledge
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures


Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to speak fluently and professionally in English, French an asset

What you will bring to this role
  • Strong academic record including a bachelor's degree and approximately a minimum of 7 years' experience in industry or with a recognized consulting firm
  • Professional designation and/or qualification is desired i.e. MBA, CPA, CA, CMA, CGA
  • Experience in delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support
  • Experience with emerging technologies and robotic process automation roll-out is an asset
  • Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
  • Travel may be required for this role

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
    • Toronto : $110,000 to $160,000
